I would also like to see some numbers done with this specally with the 2X cards running.

I personally thought it would make a substantial difference specially with them both running in some games. I guess I was wrong and I am glad that I checked.....opens a lot more board choices for my new build:D

I have two slots open between my two cards. When i didn't have a fan blowing between them idle temps would be around 60C and load temps around 80C. When I put a fan to blow between them the idle temps went to 35-40C and load temp went to 55-60C. Big improvement imo.

I have heard of some real problems with cards sitting on top of each other. They get too hot. Usually they have to do water cooling or they have to stick somthing between them to space them out and get air between them.

When they are stacked on top of each other the top card basically sufficates.

As for going with one to two slots open between the cards there is minimal improvement with temps. Maybe 5C at the most. Not as considerable as putting a fan to blow between them.

I plan on getting the CM hafX so airflow over the cards should not be a problem.

However 5c seams allot to me specially when you just paranoid about heat lol

So is the consensus that I should go with a board that has the "normal" 2X slot spacing or get one with 3X like the revolution?

Either one will be just fine as far as temps go for gpus. I would go with the board that has what you want that is reliable and for the best price. As far as the card spacing goes, either one will do just fine. Unless you are planning on getting triple slot card then go with the bigger spacing.
