LePad is le impressive. Tegra 3 with that resolution and size display looks to be great.

I question their statement...

But you normally hold a tablet a bit further so it should still be a "retina" display.

I'm not sure about most people but I hold a tablet at about the same distance as a phone. Although you'll probably have a hard time telling the difference between a 225ppi display and a 330ppi display anyway (unless you get really close).

Nice, but I'd still remain wary of any Lenovo product that doesn't bear Thinkpad branding.

"Retina" PPI at average viewing distace is around 250-260 PPI for sharp eyed individuals (and for full "retina" at any distance for those same people is much higher than the 329 of the iPhone)

For a large percentage of the population anything over 200 is "retina".

Put one of these screens into a X220 and I'll buy 50.

God this is so true.

I hate when people talk about something having a "retina" display.

I can count pixels on the iPhone 4/4S screen at normal usage distance (~1-1.5ft). I can do the same to my monitor at 3ft. Retina is a lie. (also I've used 30" 12mp monitors... which are godly).

Really though, this seems awesome. Im glad that they arent doing the stupid marketing "1080p" crap, but are instead going for 16:10 (1200p). The specs sound pretty decent, so if the price and battery life are right (under 1k, 24 hours), i might get one.

There is no such thing as a "retina" display. That is a marketing buzzword coined by Apple. It just means that the resolution is high enough that you don't notice the individual pixels.

Not technically 1200p as that notation implies an aspect ratio of 16:9, which is why the vertical resolution is able to be omitted.
