Just out of curiosity how did you upgrade your cpu in your laptop? I tried to do this once to an acer but it was impossible to get it open without bending heat syncs.
All laptops differ, MY HP 4510s Probook for instance was a piece of cake to replace the Processor, the heatsink covers both the GPU and CPU joined by a heat-pipe and held down by 6 or 7 Phillips screws. Some Laptop's are a little different and might use Torx screws.
Also keep in mind some CPU's for laptop are soldered to the board if I remember correctly and can't be upgraded. Also keep in mine heat dissipation. I can't run my T9600 at 2.8 GHz for more then 20 minutes full load without over heating, so I have to bump it down to 2.4 GHz.
