I removed my IHS on an AMD 3800 today following Crash's excellent removal video tutorial in the gallery..Glad I did it to, the very center of the core and IHS were not well covered and had cobweb like almost bare metal tendrils radiating from the center....I will be using a Stinger Wb on this.I test fitted it in the mobo..Tested the stock HSF on it, the ZLF cam seems to be a little high to get a flat fit..Should I shave it down a little or raise it around the edge of the CPU with something to level it out? I was thinking of using a little bead of RTV sealent or clear silicone, have both here close to hand...If I build it up some would it be benificial to coat the out laying capaciters with a light coat of di-electric grease to keep out dust and other contaiminents? Finally would I be better off with Cerminique it's not as conductive or just use AS5...Left a couple of pic's of the bare core the quality is lousy, but maybe you can see the poor TIM quaility I was speaking of... Thank's for any advise you can share with me...
