If you failed after two hours, you'll probably need about 1.52-1.53v under a full load. Make sure you're using "High" LLC and offset mode. Otherwise you'll have idle BSOD's. You will have a higher "light load" vcore though.

To get my chip stable at 5.0, it takes 1.54v full load, 1.565v light load. So its not doable with mine. As is, my 4.9GHz is pushing the limits on vcore with 1.49v full load and 1.52v light load.

I'd say tone it down a tad too. Not because of your cooling, but because of your vcore. This is coming from somebody who lives right on the edge of vcore "limitations" myself.

Why would you return it? Does it work at stock? If so, then you have NO grounds to return it. It's not the store's fault that you got an average chip, same as the other probably 80-90% of SB owners.

My highest temps were 71 76 78 and 71 during that prime test....that at 1.5 vcore
I was able to run 20 passes of LinX with a 1.45 vcore...My highest temps were 71 76 78 and 71

Cool. That means nothing. LinX only gets you hot, it tells you absolutely NOTHING for stability. You need to pass 12 hours of Prime95 custom blended (version 25.11).

So your temps are fine. But I wouldn't pass over 1.52v on light load (you'll want to use High LLC like I said earlier). If you're NOT using offset, don't pass 1.45v.
