I have had my G400 for one week now, and the scroll wheel is definitely easier to scroll now than when it was new out of the box. Feels really good to me. Give it a chance to break in.

i'm planning to buy a g400 in the near future and hopefully my scroll wheel will be the same. now, apart from the annoying ledge at the right side of the mouse, this mouse is perfect for me. good build quality, great sensor, comfortable shape, and reasonably priced. what more can you ask for in a gaming mouse? thumb.gif

If you feel that the clicks on the G400 are too light, stay away from Coolermaster mice, Razer mice and some Steelseries at least (Ikari for example). Their buttons are even lighter then the logitech ones.
Personally i like lighter clicks, i feel like i can activate them faster then hard clicks. Might be only psychology, but it definitely feels good. Never had any problems with 1-shots on auto weapons.

Yup that sharp ledge makes a sore ring finger in a hurry. I sanded it off the first day I got the G400, and I still can use three fingers on the left and right click area, droop my ring finger over the front right side of the mouse, or use my ring finger along with my pinky to grip the right side. No more sore ring finger after the mod, and the G400 fits like a glove now.

I do wonder how people managed to make the mx518 peel, i had one since it got released, the old version that is, and beside the logo, which has lost a bit of colour on the edges, it looks brand new 0_o

hmm, i didn't have the MX518, but the MX500 and 510.
So how do the sides compare to G400 then and don't say they are now plain plastic?

G400 has some type of hard rubber compound on the right and left sides for grip.

Didn't notice the MX518 had softer rubber sides, but one should be able to swap the shells if he likes the MX518 sides better.

Another thing which worries me tho is, how did they manage to make it so much heavier than the mx518?
MX518 is supposed to weight ~106g, and G400 ~118g ***?!?
