M60 stopped working :( - Page 2

if only the inners of the mouse can be switched out to something not corsair biggrin.gif gotta admit corsair knows how to make cases, including cases for the mouse, but god forbid if they should try to build a computer using their own case.... you'd have to RMA that like 8 times for windows to boot on that thing biggrin.gif

We just posted an updated version of the M60/M90 and K90 software, which includes new firmware that resolves bricking issues. You can get them at the following links:

M60
M90
K90

Additionally, we added a couple of features (such as direct programming of keystrokes) and fixed a number of other bugs (macros are no longer interrupted by pressing other keys, device-switching UI responsiveness has been improved) that have been a sore spot for our customers for quite a while.

This is not a final version, but it is finally solid enough that we wanted to get a preview up. If all goes well the final version should be posted after a couple of weeks of stress testing and some final cosmetic touch-ups.

I understand you guys are trying, but... from the point of view of the product life cycle, the M60/M90 software should have been resolved by now... it's not like the mouse just came out a month ago... I REALLY wanted to buy the M90... but as it stand, i can't justify buying a piece of hardware just because it has a nice looking case frown.gif it's like buying a Ferrari w/o an engine... it looks great. the seat feels really good. suspension feels tight. too bad it doesn't work biggrin.gif I mean this is even worse then the SSD firmware problems you guys had biggrin.gif

I totally agree that the software should have been finished well before now. I've been working with the developers since I joined the company in March to get it done. It has been a difficult project and it has not shipped as quickly as it should have.

Even though you don't need it, though, the software is still available for other people in the thread whose mice are bricked. It removes the need for an RMA.

Chris is designing a new mouse made entirely of petroleum jelly.

Chris is weird.

just throw bags of cash at a senior driver developer from logitech or steelseries and see if you guys can land one:D i'm sure you guys are aware ALL of the reviews on ALL sites have been "build quality is great, best feeling mouse ever produced, too bad the software doesn't work....." i was SOOOO looking forward to the M90 and now I'm "unable" to buy it because EVERY SINGLE REVIEW said the driver is crap frown.gif so as it stands, i'm likely going with either a G600 or a G700 from logitech.... maybe when M91 comes out, the drivers would not be an issue frown.gif

just as a product suggestion if you guys are going to design a "M91". the top (dpi up and down buttons) can you guys maybe consider making it contoured much like the G700 so it's easier to press and require shorter finger travel to reach them? also mirror those buttons on the right side of the mouse as well so you can use the middle finger to access additional buttons. additionally 2 ring finger button (situated slightly behind where your ring finger would normally sit to manipulate the mouse) so you have a ring finger top and ring finger bottom buttons) would complete the overall package.

as for the thumb side of the mouse, i think you can eliminate the 2 buttons way in the back.(instead, i would split the button directly behind the thumb into 2 buttons instead of 1 big button) those 2 button on the back are hard to reach during gaming anyway and from an ergonomics point of view, those buttons would be much better served when allocated to either the ring finger or the 2 dpi buttons on the right click side of the mouse. with those design changes, I doubt there would ever be a better ergonomically designed mouse then the "M91"? smile.gif (unless you guys figured out a way to go wireless w/o eating a battery every 8 hours biggrin.gif )

I also want to mention that PLEASE do not look at the sales # on the current M90 as demand for the product. there are plenty of us out here that would drop a Benjamen in a heart beat if they drivers ever gets fixed.... however, from what i've read so far, you guys are still in the "putting out the fire stage".(can you bind a key to a button w/o first making it into a macro yet? ) not so much of refining the functionality stage. PLEASE take PLENTY of inspiration from the nostromo N52 for overall programmability and functionality of the software. in almost 10 years of service, I still cant find a gamepad / mouse that matchs the overall functionality provided by the N52.

multiple repeatable macros running at the same time (tho it would be nice if there was an LED that flashes under each key that has a macro running. that way you don't get confused what abilities you are currently using) there are alot of games that are out that has short duration buffs that you pretty much need to have up at all times to survive and the nostromo takes the hassle of hitting that buff every 20 to 30 seconds out of the equation. (yes i'm lazy and sometimes forget to hit my buff and i die 2 seconds after the buff wears off...) it's a functionality that has existed in the N52 for almost a decade so it's not something "different" i've came to expect that type of functionality from my gaming gear. microsoft intellipoint/intellitype can only run 1 macro at a time, steel series z engine require you to hold the button down to repeat the macro (old school paper clip trick to hold the key down biggrin.gif ) (haven't tried out the logitech gaming software yet so not sure how they are doing it) i mean... what is the point. it's a functionality that belkin has already had for a decade.... give gamers the functionality they are looking for....

anyway. PLEASE make the M90 work the way you KNOW It's supposed to work smile.gif afterall, you gotta be a gamer to design a mouse as sweet as the M90...
