People who buy apple "LAPTOPS" are kinda counter productive.

Don't know about you but my Macbook Pro runs Cod4 no problem

I am sure Apple has always had an open dialogue with AMD when it come to parts supply. A little known fact; AMD components have appeared in Apple hardware for over 20 years, below is a Mac Classic 2 motherboard from 1991 with the AMD logo clearly visible. If AMD has what Apple needs I see no reason why they wouldn't use them unless exclusivity contracts with Intel prevent that. Wait and see I guess.

FWIW, the top end one (desktop A8), there are 400 stream processors, so basically a 5670. Subtract a bit since memory bandwidth and latency are lower/higher respectively, and clocks are lower, yea, 1080p ultra isn't happening at 50FPS/

Yeah IM not sure about that. Ill have to check it out. Still though with low resolution bf3 is still an extremely heavy game and if a mobile apu can run it at ultra then thats prettty outstanding in itself.

Ill find out the resolution. Wont be till later though, I got class.

I would like to see your proof on this. I have already proved in earlier threads that it does not. Llano blows intels apus away when it comes to graphics. Also, Trinity comes out before Ivy bridge so their already behind again. You should read the whole thread. I shouldn't have to keep to posting the same links to prove the same point.

Llano blows Sb away. Triniity will be at least 50% better than llano. IB will be 50% better than SB. Trinity comes out before IB. So when intel comes out with their new apu amd has already released their second generation.

When it comes to apu graphics, intel is way behind. Look at my previous post with links for proof.

This is probably the best thing I will read all year. So many people flame me for being logical when it comes to laptop purchases. It makes my week to see others aren't so idiotic, but then again this is ocn thumb.gif

Heres another article showing llano graphics compared to sb graphics. Most cases show at least double the performance with llano and there are several that show a triple performance increase. Llano blows SB away when it comes to graphics.
These are for the desktop chips

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4476/amd-a83850-review/5

As for the mobile chips here is another review. Some cases llano does as little as 30% better than SB and in other cases llano does over 100% better than SB. AMD definitely has apu's on lock and with Trinity coming out before IB, AMD's going to be in the lead for a little while at least.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4444/amd-llano-notebook-review-a-series-fusion-apu-a8-3500m/11

And another thing on top of this is that anand is a intel supporter too so for them to show this much of a beating by amd, verifies even more how much amd's on top of the apu market right now as far as graphics go. That with their fusion tech too. Its good to see the underdog outperform dramatically in something and right now that the APU.

If it keeps up like this then their should be no reason why apple wont make a deal with AMD. Especially since their customers are more concerned with looks and graphics smoothness rather than performance and compute power. Also, apple puts ssd's in all their stuff to so this make a big deal when it comes to quickness, more so than cpu power which overall is not that different.

I presume the only thing stopping them is yield issues. Llano itself is great for both mobile and even low end gaming applications. Can play source engine games on high with steady frames thumb.gif

Lappy with dual graphics and gddr5 as system ram is the main bottleneck and Llano owns smile.gif

I noticed that global foundries just opened up a brand new top of the line manufacturing center in NY which is supposed to be their best one yet. Hopefully this help AMD get their yeilds up. Not sure if it has anything to do with AMD but it should since, I would think, they are their biggest partner.

Would you know anything about that. It says that it is for IBM but wouldnt you think that theyll be pushing out massive amounts of amd llanos and BD and GPU's?

Here is some links on it.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/45933254/IBM_and_GLOBALFOUNDRIES_Begin_First_Production_at_New_York_s_Latest_Semiconductor_Fab_First_products_from_Fab_8_developed_and_manufactured_in_New_York_s_Tech_Valley
http://embedded.com/electronics-news/4234192/Globalfoundries--N-Y--kicks-off-production

The latter one says that it is for improved memory for better cpu somthing or another. Does this mean that they are not making microprocessors here? Does this mean the factory is only for IBM products? Would you know anything about this elgappo?
