This is the tablet that will get me to bite if there isn't a Galaxy Note successor for Sprint in 2012/2013.

The 10 inch transformer won't cost around the same as an iPad which is about $250-$300 so they'd be making $100-$150. I don't see them making any profit on this at all though?! Maybe $30?

Who would choose the Kindle fire over this? Kindles are for book readers and have those easy to read screens, if you want a color screen you obviously want a little bit more for your money e.g. tegra 3.
I don't think anyone would (unless for books) but my point was I can understand why Amazon prices it at $200 because they make the money off the books, but with this, how will they make any money? I don't see it.

Furthermore the iPad besides the software has other great features such as Battery life, its wheight and thinness and materials it is made from and of course the quality of the hardware/components.
Some people just have to learn that Apple is about experience, they don't just look at hardware and try to boost sales with that.

lmao.... is that all fact or just based on your blind love of the rotten fruit?
I have the original Transformer tablet and I have put it side by side with iPads... there was nothing offered in the iPad experience that would cause me to give it up.

And battery life is a joke right? My Transformer last pretty much just as long, and twice as long when I use it with the keyboard dock.

Oh yeah, and it has two SD expantion slots and two USB ports.

Agreed! GF has Ipad 2, i have Asus Transformer. And i do not regret it one bit. They are about equal on everything but OS, they both have great features but i prefer the freedom of Android e..g. when developing i can just install beta apps straight to my asus, but would have to set up a dev Iphone/Pad and i don't have the money to have a spare device lying around with dev features. I just wish Android had the quality of appplications that IOS has, they have improved massively but are not quite as good as IOS. I agree this is because Apple are so strict. I believe Google should be like this towards what they let on the market but not prevent users from installing naff apps if they want. e.g. download off websites/forums.

You make a fair point, and maybe they have set up some sort of royalty system with Google considering they are making some of the best selling tabs and don't really put much Asus mods on the OS. If not $30 is actually a reasonable amount, i heard the asus prime was the most preordered android tablet ever, so this at a much lower price point should sell well. guess at how many they might sell and times it by 30. Bet you'd like that number in your bank account wink.gif

It takes some cash to make a slate... it'd take a lot of them to recoup that yet along make a nice profit. I remember seeing some statistics I think for the 3rd quarter of 2011, showing that Apple sold 25 million iPad 2's, and the combined total Android slates sold totaled only 1.1 million.
