So I just fired up my console client an noticed after every percent of work completed it will spit back it is writing local files?
Check it out:

Is this a good thing, a bad thing, or just harmless to the operation? confusedsmiley.png

what type of units are you running, and whats your checkpoint frequency?

depending on those 2 things, it can be harmless, especially if its bigadv units and you have a 15 minute checkpoint set.

Yes. This will allow you to pick up more current work units, as well as fully utilize all 8 logical cores on your processor.

Go to the folder where you have the Folding@Home program saved. Delete the 'Work' folder and both FahCore files. Then, right click on the shortcut to the Folding@Home application and select properties. In the 'Target' line, insert one space and then type -smp after the end of the quotation marks. Finally, start the Folding@Home client. It should download a new core and you will see much higher CPU usage and much better performance.

EDIT: It should look like this:

By the way, did you set up a passkey?
