Catalyst says that my crossfire bridge is not setup correctly... but it is!

Hi,

I recently setup 2 6870s in crossfire. I already knew how to set them up since I've done crossfire setups many times before. First time, the crossfire tab wasn't even available. I updated the drivers, and the crossfire tab showed up.

Now, when I go to enable crossfire, it is shaded out, and a message is there stating that my crossfire bridge is not connected properly.

I went through the instructions word for word, and it still didn't work. I even flipped the bridge (even though I know this doesn't make a difference).

Any ideas???

Fully uninstall and reinstall CCC, rather than just updating it. Also fully reinstall / remove any previous CAPs you may have installed, as well as GPU monitoring programs.

Ugghhhh...

I tried exactly what both of you guys told me to do, and it still says my bridge is not connected properly. It is as snug as it can be, and it still says that...

Okay. I have an Asus board, and according to ASUS, an SLI bridge came with the board. But what supposedly is an SLI bridge, looks 100% identical to the crossfire bridge that I bought seperately. Only difference is that it doesn't say crossfire on it.

Is there a way I can tell if it is SLI or crossfire?

Thanks!

Have you got another bridge to try?

also make sure the connectors on the cards themselves are clean.

Can you put up a photo of it?

Thanks!

I know what bridge you're speaking of, and it came with my Asus board too. I cannot use the bridges that come with motherboards, the actual connector itself isn't long enough, therefore it doesn't connect properly, so I have to use the longer ones that actually come with cards / that you have to order standalone.
