Having a SLI setup, I currently have no options at all. I need airflow over a window.
I would love to see the interior but my top card heats a lot. A window would hurt the temps bad I think.

For now my case is open because of the adapter that I broke, but I'll install the fan on the side this week it should help with the first GPU reaching 68-72*C in games.
I got to agree that the cable management is near perfection. I would have liked a little more space in the back panel to store all the extra cables of my non modular PSU, but it does fit, just very tight. One last thing is that the motherboard tray isn't removable but at least they did cut a big hole in the back in case you want to swap your CPU cooler without removing the whole motherboard(Thus having to remove GPU's, PSU connectors and unscrew/remove your motherboard).
EDIT: For a fan filter, I used my mother's pantyhose biggrin.gif Works like a charm, just had to scotch tape ghetto rig it haha

you can connect other fans to that front header built into the 500R, you just need to clip the two little directional pegs off it so you can slide it in backwards, i did it with a bunch of noctua fans, works like a charm.

as far as cabe management goes, ive found if you run all your lines beside eachother where that large indent is on the panel, they fit quite easily, and my psu isnt even modular.

Has anybody had any success with attaching a fan filter to the side panel of a 500R?

It seems that this magnetic filter for the 650D is a perfect fit for the side panel of the 500R: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13685/ffi-83/DEMCiflex_Corsair_650D_Magnetic_Dust_Fan_Filter_Top_Piece_-_1_Piece.html

Great I'll mod that front header ! Thanks for the tip ! biggrin.gif
I must admit, I was so happy with all the new rig I just organized everything just fine and closed the panels, the back one I had to force a little and I could see the cables pressing to pop the panel but once screwed it wouldn't move at all.
I did a low level cable management, took about 10 minutes but when I find the time I'll mess a little with those 2 aspects.

Thanks again I thought I was screwed with that fan controller !

I have my 500r comming on Thursday (white one).biggrin.gif I have been asking questions here about fan placements also beings I did not have as many options for fans in other cases I have owned. I can't wait to get rid of my Antec 900. Not a bad case, but cable management sucks and it is a pain to add/replace almost anything in it. The main reason I am getting a new case is that I got a Corsair H80 for xmas and would have had to take my motherboard out anyways to put it in because the 900 doesnt have a cutout under for easy access. Figured if I have to take out my board, midas well put it in something better.

I should also be able to use my bottom PCI-e slot in my board now. Maybe I will move one of my vid cards down to give them more breathing room.

You will fall of your chair coming out from a 900 to a 500r biggrin.gif
The case is just epic.
It looks huge, it is quiet and looks amazing.
My friend know me for having always a better computer but when they saw that case they thought I sold my house tongue.gif

Just got the case today. This case is QUIET!!! tongue.gif

I love how tidy the cable management is on the 500R too.

The only two questions I have about the case are:
1) How do I turn on the white LED lights? I don't think that cable was hooked up correctly because the LED switch doesn't do anything right now.
2) How do I speed up the fans? I am checking in CPUID HWMonitor and don't see any difference when I adjust the fan toggle switch. Perhaps that cable was not hooked up correctly either?

Other then that I'm really loving the case! Still need to find a way to put the right side panel back on with all of those cables nested on the side there. May require some zap strapping and further stretching.
I might even pick up two more 150mm fans for the top of the case but right now I don't think it's a huge priority - however, maybe if I want to try for 5GHz on the i7 2600K I should replace all of the fans? Or perhaps an even better CPU cooler would be a better investment then new fans.
I will just have to make sure that I don't store any liquids on top of the case for fear of it spilling down. tongue.gif

There is a button on the front panel next to the fan controller. That turns the LEDs on and off.

You should make sure you have all the headers connected in the right spots. The door isn't flat and there should be plenty of space for cables. A better cpu cooler is always a good thing. I'm done with large heatsinks. It's gonna hurt to part with this Frio, but I am getting an H80 or H100.

I'm guessing a cable wasn't hooked up correctly but I'm not sure what to look for?

I just checked out the H100 and it looks like a very nice cooler.

Question about placement though:
Can the radiator be installed above and below the fans on top of the case?

500rw_top_down_open_1.jpg
vs.
Inside.jpg

And if so, what is the advantage of putting the radiator above the fans and removing the nice mesh? It looks kinda silly like that but maybe there is a performance increase with it being like that?

I am actually thinking about getting a H100 as my next purchase now as it has some rather nice 150mm(?) fans included with it too. But first, do you think I can get 5GHz stable with the H100 or is that pushing it?
And will this Corsair Link Cooling Kit be a required purchase if I get the H100?
http://www.corsair.com/corsair-link-cooling-kit.html
(I'm not exactly sure what this does? I read the description but still don't understand it lol)

I'm almost positive an H100 radiator will fit inside the compartment on top with the mesh in place. The H100 rad is 25mm tall, my RS240 rad is 35mm tall and just barely wouldn't fit.

If you do place the radiator in the top compartment I would suggest this setup: Two fans inside the case pulling ambient air through the mesh, over the rad and into the case. Then turn the giant 200mm side fan around so it's blowing hot air out. You will then have the coolest air possible flowing over the rad, while improving the airflow balance by turning the side 200mm fan around. Then you'll end up with 4x120mm fans blowing in, and 1x120mm and 1x200mm blowing out.

My setup is basically that, except I have my fans inside the compartment pushing ambient air over the rads and into the case.

Edit: as a matter of fact I think Corsair designed this case to have room to place an H100 rad in the top compartment.
