I'm not trying to be funny but have you tried just pressing F8 from start up?

Oh, I did flash the BIOS also, and it did work after that but I'm not sure that was the cause of it.

Ok so I apparently was not timing my F8 strike right. :| I got to the Advanced Boot Options screen. First safe mode failed to the same effect as my original problem. I guess I'll try a few more times with the different safe mode options. Anything else I can try from the Advanced Boot Options menu?

Can I delete AMD Overdrive from command prompt?

I would say just keep on trying Safe mode. But at least we've got some progress, hopefully eaglesfan can guide you through what he did in safe mode. thumb.gif

This didn't work, I get an error saying

Description = Invalid Class

But... I am attempting a restore to a couple days ago because AMD Overdrive seems to be the last thing I installed, HAH! For the love of god I hope this works so I can play with my new computer!!!

I have a bad feeling it won't work because of the oddity that my HDD is showing during POST but not in my BIOS.

So that didn't work. madsmiley.png

There is a BIOS update so I suppose I'll try that next.
