I'm honestly surprised you can get 20 fps with that computer. BF3 is super demanding even on low, my m15x laptop struggled when I tried even when I lowered the resolution. If you want better fps you need a better computer a whole new one.

Edit :
Also there's no frame limit that I've seen since I get between 60 and 150+ fps depending on where I am and what map on my sig rig.

You might be able to keep the Pentium D but you need at least a Radeon 6850 I would say to get your frames playable, and even then I don't know how badly your CPU would be limiting you.

I feel like your CPU cannot stand BF3.
Even a e5200 would struggle with BF3.

I think I get that good because I have overclocked the GPU
Core: 500Mhz --> 860Mhz
Mem: 600Mhz --> 830Mhz

I don't think you'll be seeing much better with that CPU, people with core2 duo's have complained about slowdowns in BF3 since it's a heavily multithreaded game it can benefit from 4, 6 and 8 core processors. That may make your video card perform a bit better, but it's still a low end card and will be stuck to low settings and low resolution.

You have to watch out, the FSB is locked to the RAM and the CPU.
Overclocking the FSB will most likely cause memory errors.

You'd gain some more power with a overclocked CPU and memory, but I don't think it would make it any more playable.

well I was planning on buying a new board and getting a AMD Phenom II X4 and my card has actually been boosted quite a bit because I allocated 1gb of my ram (aka 1 stick) to be dedicated to the graphic mem so technically its 2gb video mem now smile.gif
