MX red switch keyboards? [Already Ordered]

Thread Starter
I have previously owned a Meka G1, which has MX Black Switches. I liked the feel of that switch but it did make my fingers tired after long gaming sessions. As I gave away that keyboard a few days ago to my GF. Im in a market for a new Mech Keyboard.

I really liked the quality of my previous Meka G1. So on the new keyboard, it must be

1.MX RED switch.
2.= or > Meka G1 in terms of build quality.
3. Near 150$.
4. NKRO

I can care less about features such as back lighting, USB hubs, audio ports.... All i want is something simple looking with top notch build quality.

Any input will be appreciated!

Happy New Year OCN!biggrin.gif

UPDATE: After tons of research I ended up ordering from WASD. I ordered a custom 104 keys with cherry mx reds. Weyman was the owner i think who is really kind. I emailed him and said i wanted some sort of engraving on the spacebar. but i didnt at that point know i paid for a blank keyboard. the engraving would cost 10$ more. After i agreed to pay for the 10$ he emailed me and said it was done and he will not charge me since it was a quick job. My keyboard was shipped 3hours after i placed the order... simply amazing. KUDOS to WASD! will do an review with pics once the keyboards comes in!

Leopold FC500r or Fc200r from elitekeyboards

Your best options for reds for your price point are:

-Ducky Shining ($145-156 before shipping)
-Corsair K90 ($130)
-WASD ($140 before shipping)
-Leopold ($99 before shipping)
-Rosewill ($99 before shipping)

I personally recommend the Ducky out all of those if you don't mind paying a tad more than $150 with shipping included.

He said he doesnt care for backlighting.

Regardless if he does or not, the Ducky Shining is still the best built Ducky Keyboard that also come with red switch option. Red switches arn't made with every brand and of all of the red boards available except maybe the Filco Linear R (which will cost you well over $200 to buy these days), it's the best one on the market.

Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition
you can find them 2nd hand for around $150 (i paid $160 for mine, but mine came with original Filco keycap set and a white keycap set, as well as the damper pads from EK)

Corsair K60. It includes a REALLY comfortable wrist wrest too! The switchable red keys has a little curved edge, making it far more natural to press down the keys too.

The ones I have seen around are more like $225 and up. A filco linear R for $150 will sell in like 30 seconds on GH.

If he doesn't want backlighting there is no point in spending the extra money on the ducky. And from all the stuff I read from owners of many keyboards ducky is a notch below companies like filco and leopold.

OP do you want a TKL or full layout? If TKL I highly recommend the Leopold FC200RR. Its on sale right now on elitekeyboards for $89. I bought one last week. Excellent board very high quality.

Today I received a filco and the build quality is no better then the leopold. Imo they are equals. If looking for a full layout have a look at rosewill. The red's version is $99 on newegg right now with free shipping. Plus you get a free $20 gift card.

Or for a little more customizing grab a WASD.
