The raid drivers arent on the windows cd. They should be on a floppy that came with the mobo, specific to the type of raid controller

He got an OEM board, and ASUS generally does not come iwth the floppies, but with the drivers on a CD. You hten boot from CD, and make the floppies that way. If no CD, then he has to download, and make them that way.

i put it onto a floppy already and when i try to load the floppy over the windows installation it loads but it wont set up windows bc it cannot detect any drives. btw its not an oem board, but the hds are oem

Well when i did mine on my DFI i needed to enable RAID in the bios then setup F4 then install the drivers

Which drivers are you trying? I think that board has two RAID controllers.... make sure you use the right one

and you did set up the RAID array in the controller window...right?

i tried that also and was able to set up the raid but when installing windows is where the problem occurs. and also why are there jumpers on my sata drive when they arent needed

Some SATA drives do have jumpers, generally for different purposes. Some are used to force SATA I when the drive is a SATA II drive but the motherboard is a SATA I motherboard. They can also be for other things. Depends.
