Newegg is deleting poor reviews of the XFX 7970 - Page 5

I know I read a review the other day that stated the person was giving 3/5 stars because they didn't have the card yet and would fully review the card when they received it. What the bleep is the point of writing a review before you get the product? They said through their "extensive" research it helped them decide it was going to be great.

Useless, pointless and the review was hopefully deleted. thumb.gif

I remember reading a review of this card on Newegg this morning that criticized XFX for a 2yr warranty. The review is no longer there. Also my review was never posted after it was written. WHAT GOOD ARE REVIEWS IF THEY ARE FILTERED LIKE THIS ! Come on Newegg, please dont go down that road.

Good. I'm glad they are.

Most of the deleted reviews are either nvidia trolls posting nonsense or people who don't even own the card. Period.

Get over it. They SHOULD be deleting troll reviews.

Buying something that clearly stated has a lifetime warranty then turns out no to, can and should be commented on. Newegg is blaming XFX for this screw up and XFX is blaming Newegg. I blame them both.

XFX is not at fault here. Its stated on there website from day one. Its Newegg that got it wrong. All of the Double D models are lifetime when you register. All 4 of there cards are exactly the same PCB, which are reference.
I read all the reviews, and there just stupid. I called Newegg and got 3 more deleted. that neither owned.
So what if it has 2 years, EVGA has done the same thing, you think people are complaining about it.
Asus/Gigabyte/MSI warranty is 3 years, but its only based on the manufacture date. So if you buy 1 year later, you only get 2 years instead.
Sapphire charges you for shipping there and back.

Your missing the point, many of us who bought the card on the 8th from Newegg chose the XFX brand because it was stated on the product page that it had a "lifetime warranty" The next day after the card was shipped out to me, Newegg changed the product page to reflect a 2yr warranty. I would not have bought the XFX card knowing that because # it cost more than the others. #2 includes less adapters. #3 does not include the OC software like asus etc. #4 their service is terrible. So yes I own the card, and yes I can write a review about it.

^This.................It amazes me the amount of hate coming down on XFX for changing there warranty process. Its like when you give a kid ice cream everyday and then decide to stop and they cry about it. Everyone loved XFX before this because they were spoiled by the best warranty in the business. No other company including fan boy favorites like sapphire and asus give you anything close to that. All of these cards internals are exactly the same (reference) there is nothing different about them other then a silly logo thus why they should all give you a similar warranty and XFX was smart to do this on the reference Core cards. . The BEDD is the only one that gives you better cooling and a lifetime warranty.

Lol where are you getting your info from? They come with software called PowerTune. http://xfxforce.com/en-us/Products/Graphics-Cards/ATI/AMD-Radeon-HD-7000-Series/AMD-Radeon-HD-7970.aspx Its all the Amd based software that you can activate from the amd video control panel just different companies have different names for it. And now your mad because they offer the same warranty as Asus and Sapphire. They are all the same card bro. You think because one has a Sapphire sticker on it that its better? Lol

Yup.

I think the poster's situation of having been sold a card that was purported to have a lifetime warranty but actually only has a 2-year warranty is deplorable and worthy of the ire. There is very much wrong with this.

But the segmentation of lifetime and time-limited warranties is perfectly reasonable and makes sense in this economy. The double lifetime warranty is no longer really sustainable. There is nothing wrong with this.

So XFX has basically turned into the eVGA of the AMD side (though I think non-reference XFX cards should be avoided like the plague, I won't get into that).

Most people are using free programs like Msi Afterburner anyways to monitor FPS/GPU usage etc so they don't even need the amd software to do safe overclocks on the 7970.

Yeah I have to admit 3/4 of the comments on Newegg's or Tigerdirects sites are all good and the worse ones are deleted or shuffled pages back. I've noticed it from shopping on there site last year. Funny how they keep "stressing" the technology innovation like the ability to do online purchasing by reading reviews and research is a joke, it's just like IGN and other sites, what Newegg and Tiger-direct fail to mention is there reviews are paid by fake reviewers....
