Can't imagine it would improve FPS at all. Load times sure but not FPS

It's only a backup.

can reduce stuttering. Have you ever played a game and you get a quick pause while loading or saving. A faster hard drive will make the pauses shorter or even go away, I have been running my games on a 3x 640gb WD blacks for years now. I load up into battlefield 3 and TF2 before anyone else most of the time, with its 320MB/s sequential read.

I wouldn't go back to installing games on a non raid hard drive.

Raid0 is nice for speed, but don't expect more Frames, expect faster load times.

Hum.. I see:)
Perhaps i will get another hdd and do raid then. Or do i have to use 3?
Is it an raid guide/review witch are easy to understand? I know my motherboard
supports some raid options..

A raid array that improves read speeds (like raid 0 and variations of raid 1, for example) will help for games where many large textures are frequently loaded, where momentary lapses in FPS can occur because of hard drive access to load the textures into the RAM (like, say, if you're entering a new map location on an expansive map of crysis for example)--with a faster hard drive you won't notice as much of a momentary drop in fps, so your minimum fps shouldn't be as low. But you won't see much of a change in your average fps.

And just to point one thing out that many people seem to not entirely realize when discussing raid arrays, raid is NOT a backup method. In fact, it's one of the worst methods for "backing up" any sort of data if you care about data integrity. It's main purpose (aside from raid0) is to minimize being affected by hard drive mechanical failures. But it will not function as an automatic backup method that anybody should put a lot of faith in. /preaching

RAID0 = 2HDDS Striped meaning they work together to offer increased speed
RAID1= 2HDDS Mirroring: meaning they work together to create duplicates of your data in order to prevent data loss
hardware malfunction
You need more Hdds to do anything beyond this.
eg:Raid 5 (3 HDDS) Parity puts data across all HDDS , RAID0+1 which is a combo of both Raid0 and Raid1, (3 4hdds) anything beyond this is not practical for a typical user/gamer.
