blowhole??? - Page 2

Yeah, I used a dremel to cut most of the holes in my case. Notice: holes, plural. Just make sure to use the black fiberglass reinforced disks, the red ones are poo. :turd:

Use a old DVD for a template it is the right size for 120mm fan, if you have some blue painters tape use it or masking tape...Just make sure you tape it or you willl get scratches.I gues you could use a Dremel if that is all you have ...It will take awile but just go slow with it and it will work out...Oh yeah you might want to drill your fan mounting holes first if it is a Aluminum case, it can get shakey...I use a jig saw but just go with what you got..

If your case is metal, goto homedepo and see if they have diamond drummel bits. They never break, they last for about 5 min while cutting metal and they are really fast cutters. Otherwise be prepared to waste a bunch of bits. lol, and yes tape the area around where your cutting to save your paintjob.

LOL... Hole saws are god send. But be very care ful with that
dremel... Now that I have a hole saw I will never use a dremel to cut
a fan hole ever again.

This was the very first mod I ever did, using a Dremel with a cutting disk. Took me about an hour, mostly because I was afraid of overheating the tool. I used duct tape to cover it up, then traced the hole and screws from a front fan mount. The edging is stripped coaxial cable that I cut with an Xacto. (The smudge is just dirt that my camera caught; I didn't see it).

Not a good way to cut a 120mm bLOw hole.

A relative FYI.
Receintly I required some burs for a Dremel I went to Lowes who also has the Bosch line. The Bosch burs were less expensive and I chose theirs. They were not only less expensive but lasted 2-3x longer, I was able to cur at lease 2x more surface per bit, so IMHO the Dremel accesories SUCK! The Dremil motor is sweet though!
I wonder how good the Bosch disks are, I've used the Dremel disks and they didn't seem to last for crapolla.

Were the dremel disks the reddish ones, or were they black?
