How much you spent on your Core 2 Duo setup?

Well, I had to put a lof of money into this one, never before I've spent so much but for what's worth, I'll probably do a major upgrade in like 3 years min.

Anyhow:

ASUS P5B Deluxe $229
Core 2 Duo E6600 $382
G.Skill DDR2 800HZ $270
Segate 2x250GB HDD $160
PCP&C 750W PSU $220
Total: $1261

Had already:
Case $110
3x250GB HDD $270
2xOptical DVDBNR $90
Key/Moue $78
Floppy $20
Video $200
Sound Card $40
Tuniq Tower 120 $55

I'll probably spend another $800 for VISTA and a DX10 card. But that'll be it, no more CPU, RAM, etc, etc, etc, etc......till 2009 or 2010.

i think the RAM and PSU are to overpriced,

I got ny patriot ram which works great for only 179 and its running at 840MHZ

Oh boi, talk about recent set up

I had a couple CPU in 1 month so here it is
2xE6600 $400, and $375
1xE6400 $240
1xE6300 $200
Asus P5B Deluxe $200
Gksills PC6400 HZ $240
2x150GB Raptor $500
OCZ GamerXtreme 600W $125
XFI Fatality $120
ATI X1900XT $300
Logitech MX3000 $40

Total: 1525 + whatever CPU

This is rediculous, my 2 Raptors cost the most

And i'll be getting Kentsfield, Vista Ultimate, and ATI DX10 around Christmas or New Year. This is a very expensive hobby

RAM is priced right for the speed I will need later with Vista and DX10 card, and I know what a pair of $180 stick of RAM can get you, certainly not 1000mhz @ 4-4-4-8 and 2.2v., because I recommeded you those stick: Remember? and so I have the same results with my $150 DDR2 675s: Know What I mean?. And that's 884mhz @ 4-4-4-8.

PSU overpriced? Well, it's the quality and power that you're buying when getting a PC Power & Cooling, at this price and power, it's a bargain compared to other brands. Rosewill may be a decent PSU but most of us will most likely not even think about a Rosewill PSU for a Core 2 Duo setup.

While it's about the power, it's also the quality of the components overall and I plan on using this rig for at least 3 years minimum. I'm sure if I buy cheap stuff now, most likely I'll have to upgrade here and there in a year or two, so this time I got what I know it will carry me through the next 3 years w/o having to consider a new PSU, RAM or CPU.

wow ram at 4-4-4-8 at 1000mhz damn! thats nice

Sorry for not knowing that about gskill.
Well yeah man u are totaly right. I went for the E6300 because reviews everywhere said that the 4mb cache didnt make a DRASTIC difference than the 2mb.

And I like my RAM a lot because it was cheap, OC amazing, and at least it worked. Stupid OCZ!

Im happy with my build because i spent less than $800 and noticed a amazing difference than my AMD build I had RMAed.

What do you mean about my rosewill???
oh and sorry about the psu comment i didnt see all the extra things u had for the build

After RMA'ing some RAM and upgrading my initial case choice, I"ll say 920 CDN, for everything except HDD.
