Purchased (prices are when I bought them):
C2D E6300 @ Newegg - $193
Gigabyte P965 DS3 @ ZZF - $152
1GB G.Skill HZ DDR2 800 @ Newegg - $130
Connect3D X800GTO PCI-E Open Box @ Newegg - $75
WD 250GB L2 16MB SATAII @ Newegg - $70
X-Ventilator Case @ Xoxide - $32
Antec SmartPower 500W PSU from pauldovi - $40

Total: $692USD

I already had:
Big Typhoon @ Newegg - $45
FM121 110CFM @ Newegg - $20
Northpole XE @ Sidewinder - $35
Samsung DVDRW+/- Burner from GatorLCA - $15
Maddog CDRW/DVD Combo Drive @ CompUSA - $10
Floppy on Ebay - $10
2x 80mm Fans @ Newegg - $2

Total: $829USD

If we are including monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers:
Hanns-G HC194D 19'' 8ms DVI LCD @ PC Connection - $120AR (Best deal ever: $240-$100MIR-$20MIR)
Keyboard Black PS/2 @ PC Connection so I could get Free Shipping - $12
Logitech Optical Mouse USB @ Staples - $11 ($4 off from ink catridge lol)
Sony Stereo Headphones @ Bestbuy - $35

Add $178USD for those items.

I would say that's not too much for a system, that is decent for gaming and can pull down 6.4K in 3dmark05.

Future Upgrades:
1GB more of G.Skill HZ DDR2 800 @ Newegg - $155 (hope it goes back down)
New Video Card, hopefully DX10 - max willing to spend $250
New PSU for DX10 card, (650W+) - max willing to spend $100

Edit: Added retailer names.

Yes
and the ram is not overpriced. Considering I have had mine at 960Mhz at 2.4 volts. Which comes in handy for a 1:1 divider

That's too much voltage for the RAM running at 960mhz. I have my G.Skill doing 1000mhz at 2.25v @ 4-4-4-8, I'm back at a 2:3 ratio. Still 2.4v is too much for 960mhz.
