I suspect that it will work better than you think. Once pixel density gets this high, we don't need gimmicks like antialiasing to make the picture look better. With the additional overhead gone, the GPU can dedicate itself to just showing us the images on the screen with minimal postprocessing.

I'm currently waiting on any definitive info on the 2012 iMac refresh, regarding both Ivy Bridge release and Retina Display. Perhaps im being too hopeful. LOL. Any suggestions on wether to wait or purchase now?

I always suggest waiting! I believe Ivy Bridge is guaranteed, the retina display is a possibility but I'd say unlikely. We'll of course see 7000 series mobility graphics, which one would expect to be better than what they use now. Wait wait wait, if you can tongue.gif

With Ivy Bridge launch being ~April 8, an expected date of a refreshed 2012 iMac can be early May due to production? Its just so difficult to play the waiting game, even for a few months redface.gif ... I wonder if 2012 will bring a body refresh?

Sand off the Apple Logo, switch out the keyboard, paint the case black, and reformat it with Windows and call it good!

Then how will people at Starbucks know I have a Mac? I'm going to get a 13" MBP for my next notebook.

Now, make a 24" 16:10 desktop variant, and I might be interested (in the Panasonic thing, not anything apple. If it was apple, it would cost $4k.)
