I had plans for that then I got laid off. Maybe when tax time comes around.

My PSU is a bit overkill, but I got a decent deal on it, and I will definitely use it on my next build.
For $5000, you should be doing a crazy rig with at least tri-crossfire 7970s, SB-e CPU, and everything water cooled/overclocked. Even with that you would still probably be under budget.

Why does it bother people on how others use their money? If it bothers you so much, get a higher paying job.

so i can safely assume the OP is young and just recently into PC's.

Just don't like seeing mistakes like someone i know did,

he bought a waterloop and everything,

And he new stuff all about PC's, it was anightmare for everyone involved.

5k should be a large enough budget to build a monster. Its not so much the money, its what you do with it. I dunno maybe some here could help him get the most out of his 5k. The sky is pretty much the limit with 5k. I am unsure if there is even a board that you can quad X fire 7970s. If I had a 5k budget, part of that would go in a 6 monitor eyefinity setup. Get 5 more of the same monitor I got which was about $130, dump the rest in the rig.

lol

I think you are missing the point.

My 1055T is fine and isn't broken so why replace it, if I was gonna upgrade it would be a new GPU prob a 7950 or something.

Yes I would never spend 7K on a PC, as it's just plain stupid if you know anything about PC components and how quick they move forward with new chipsets.

I'm sure people have the money to do it then go for it, but I sensed on this occasion the OP was young and able to be influenced easily and did not want to see a failure occur all for the OP's well being because i actually care, not because my job doesn't pay enough! lol

Yeah I missed that obviously. Mistakes are still only a perception though. If he's happy that's all that matters really. What makes him happy may not make you or me happy but still. :-)

True.

PS I could of squeezed in a home theater and everthing for 7K, and maxed every game and smashed encoding it probably would've done the dishes/guided missiles too.lol.

True. You really shouldn't, from scratch, need to spend more then 5k on something truly epic, but to each his own. biggrin.gif
