$5000-$6000 New build with FX-8150 Black Edition Processor Gaming comp. - Page 27

The price for that AMD build makes me cringe. Most people are staying away from bulldozer atm because of it's high power usage and low performance compared to intel. Here's a build for just under $4500 canadian.

Corsair 800D

i7 3960X

Rampage IV Extreme

Ripjaws Z 8gb (2x4gb) 1866mhz (2 sets)

Seagate 1tb 7200 sata 3

2x OCZ Vertex 3 240gb

Samsung BLURAY Drive

Sapphire 7970

OCZ ZX Series 1000w

TOTAL = $3800 USD

Plus this for water:

XSPC RayStorm High Performance Acetal CPU Liquid Cooling Block - Special Edition Copper

EK Radeon HD 7970 VGA Liquid Cooling Block - Acetal + Electroless Nickel Plated

EK CoolStream 360 XT Radiator

EK CoolStream 240 XT Radiator

EK-MultiOption RES X2 - 250 Basic

Swiftech MCP655 12v Water Pump

PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO LRT Tubing 1/2" ID - UV Red

Monsoon Free Center Compression Fitting - Black x12

TOTAL ~ $600

GRAND TOTAL = $4400.

Then you have all the extra money to get some LEDs, more monitors, another 7970, more RAM, anything.

I didn't see that until after posting, but either way my initial intention was to share what I would've done with that money thumb.gif

It would be a little difficult to purchase the sr-x over the RIVE considering it doesn't even have a confirmed release date yet.

I'm going to ignore your assumption that i'm some bum on the streets or to stupid to save money and let you know that i'm 16, and even I understand that I won't be able to play BF3 maxed out with an i3 and 6870 without posting on here complaining about it. Not many people can set aside 6K for a computer, you should know. Don't go insulting people on computer threads and instead go get a reference 6950 with 2gb of VRAM, over clock it to 950MHz and have fun on a maxed out BF3.

I'd have to agree. I have the GT Snow Edition and think it's a great case...plenty of room, hot plug drive trays oh and liquid is no problem either.
The design is aesthetically pleasing in my environment. I'm tired of plain square boxes, personally. Next build will be in something that's not a PC case at all. smile.gif

Now that you've got all that shiny new hardware, hope to see some new threads about getting it all safely overclocked biggrin.gif

Gratz.
