Well I would have done a 2500k but didn't fit budget when I started the build. And I got offered the 2600k as said in the op and I can swing that and it would future proof me for a long long time

I just went with a 2500k to hold me off until the 3570k, Intel stated they will work for 1155 boards so when Ivy is released I'll just need a BIOS update and boom 22nm!

get 2600k now, when ivy drops -> sell 2600k and buy a ivy chip. it'll hurt less on the wallet if you know what i mean

I'd go for sandy cuz if u buy a new cpu wich is just released you can expect problems
