So much butthurt in this thread. Why do you people ALWAYS go on the COD threads and bash and bash and bash. WE get it you hate Call of Duty. That doesn't mean others don't. You guys say the same thing over and over again. Literary the same thing.
examples:
MW3 is just a rehash of MW2. (So tell me where the trophy system, portable radar, FAD, G36C, RSASS, is in MW2)
MW3 recycles garbage building. (Oh really, like no other game that has EVER come out did that.)
Stupid DLC. (No one is forcing you to buy them. So why are you complaining?)
Maps are SOO small. (The game is made to be played on small maps, it's a run and gun game. I don't want to run for 5 minutes to get to an enemy)
Activison is milking COD. (Okay, I will agree with you on this, they are, but let them. Look what happened to Guitar Hero. They milked that, and now it's gone.)
There is more, but I don't feel like listing it. ^ most common.
Also who cares if the DLC is old FAVORITE maps? We liked how the old maps were, that's why we want them again. I don't want to play a remapped Shipment or Wetwork. If it's redesigned then it's not the same as the original.
You guys are annoying, I'm sorry, but you are. Stop comparing BF3 and MW3 together. They couldn't be more different.

I just wanted to get something straight. I don't know how it is on consoles, but once new maps were added to the rotation, you would randomly get kicked when one of those maps came around. With Black Ops, server owners were actually given free copies of the DLCs to add the maps to their rotation in order to get regular users to buy the DLCs. This time around it will be slightly different for PC players since there are unranked private servers, but that still leaves the fact that if you want to play ranked matches, you have that random chance of being kicked when one of those maps comes up. It may not be forcing you, but it is nudging you to purchase the DLC.

cod.. ug. That game literally made me lots of money and I would not touch any of them to this day with a ten foot pole. It's basically a new game made with mod tools from the old one. And people buy it. Buy it. Yes, like pay money for it.

Kind of how I feel.

The DLC model is just a way to extract money from uninformed consumers.

This is why I support PC gaming over console gaming (and console ports) PC allows for the game to be modded. 10 years ago these maps and guns would be modded into the game for free by modders while the company was allowed to work on a new engine and stability patches. Its just gotten to the level of ridiculousness.

I think I'm the only one really ticked off here.

Why the hell not 22 DLCs?! Curse you Activision.

And if you didn't preorder to get Karkand, well, that's your fault. It was stated months before the release date that Karkand would be free with preorders. If you look at older BF games, other maps and DLC were free. The only time I ever remember purchasing DLC for BF games is when it was quite a lot of content, which wasn't often.
So, For BF3 + Back to Karkand I paid 38.99. If I wanted (which I don't) MW3, that's 60 bucks plus 50 for an "Elite" account, that's 110. Yeah, that's a deal. rolleyes.gif

The Pack isn't free. Not to diminish your point, but the pack isn't free.

(I'm just very, very bitter with GAME in the UK who apparently only hold onto preorders for two days, even though you put a £5 deposit on it. Seems kind of against the rules, to be honest!)

Hmm, I bought the Limited Edition of BF3 twice (Xbox on December, PC last week. I like the xbox version because of the ****load of friends I got to play with, PC version just for the superb graphics and Conquest Large). Each time I payed $60 and they ONLY had limited editions....

So you gotta pay while you pay.

It's probably not that bad of a deal for the Elite service if you were going to buy all of these anyhow, but of course since Activision is doing it with the Modern Warfare series.. lol bring on the backlash!

This kind of reminds me of the mini DLC that Bethesda put out for Oblivion, like the horse armor and whatever else they did. Except I would guess the PC crowd could just get some free mods for whatever Bethesda could put out.

I wonder how much longer it will be before the cash cow dies.

Die?

LoL......

People LOVE this.....they LOVE it.....more and more people are latching on every year.

Pay $50-$60 for the game, then pay $50 for stat tracking and 20 "pieces" of DLC, any number of which out of that 20 could be quite insignificant.

Who cares!? Just give them your $50 up front and hope for the best!

That's just how we young people roll these days?
