New rig, quick internet explorer problem..

Thread Starter
i made this sig rig for my parents with win 7.

i have to users, mom and dad.

on my dads desktop, when he clicks the ie icon the internet instantly pops up as it should on a brand new i5.

however on my moms desktop, when you click the ie icon it takes like 7 seconds (little blue ring thinking) before the internet opnes up (once open its blazing fast).

why is this? any ideas? i did nothing different when setting up each user, and each user has their homepage set to google.com
back in the day..

Does your mom have more programs running in the background making IE or any other programs slower to open? (more processes or start up items)

It sounds more to me like the hard drive needs to spin up. After you start IE, close it and i would assume that it would start up quickly again. I am not saying that this helps the problem, but this may help diagnose the problem.

You could try making a new icon or adding the icon to the task bar and see if that makes a difference.

I don't think this will really solve your problem, but it at least gives you a place to start to start until someone with a better idea posts.

Like the above says. smile.gif

If you can't fix it make a new mom account and migrate everything there.
