AM2 Cooler that doesn't need mounting bracket - Page 2

Was any damage done to the CPU from this? And I would definately talk to ASUS about this issue regardless if you get a new cooler. That mobo needs to be replaced by them at not cost.

Also if you are not gonna use the ACF 64 Pro PM me about it.

Yeah everything works fine. I put the system horizontal and placed the stock cooler on it. Everything booted and ran fine so there is no damage. While it seems like I am the first person to bring this up here I am not the first case I've heard of with the exact same thing happening. Apparently all that will happen is ASUS will send me another mounting bracket. I'd rather ignore this all together cause who says it won't jsut snap like the first one you know? Plus I don't want to have to wait around for a long time to get the system up and running again as currently I'm using my much older system.

Any socket 939 cooler should work for an AM2 system, the Freezer64 worked great on mine and it says it only works for 754 and 939
