water cooling - Page 2

I personally prefer my Swiftech Apogee HD CPU block and EK GPU blocks. Great results. I'd at least go with 2 240 rads, a 360 and a 120 or 240, or a 480. Pump? Swiftech MCP655. Though I'm satisfied with my Rasa 750 pump, the 655 will get you better flow rates. Res? Your preference. Tube? Primochill LRT. Bits power compression fittings. Go with 1/2 x 3/4 tubing.

I gave you a place to look up your answers so they wouldn't be spoon fed to you. It will not help you if you don't choose for your self. I'm not trying to be mean, but if you are willing and able to take the jump for a full custom water loop. You will have to start reading up sooner or later to see what best suits your needs.

So here is my list for you, I went way overboard on quality. I went overboard on pumps, and fans. I also considered you were going to mod your 800D to fit a p/p setup in the roof with a shroud. I also took for granted you were going to mod the bottom to fit the 240 rad. I also went ahead and got you an SLI setup for the 7970's. I got you a fan controller also. You will need to find some fan extensions and "Y" adapters.

Good luck!

Edit: If you want to make two separate loops (ie: CPU on the 240 and the two 7970 on the 420, you'll need two other fittings for the res, but it supports it.)

i would start off with this http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/XSPC-Rasa-750-RS240-WaterCooling-Kit--RS-Series-Kit-pid-12137.html
when you add your gpu get another 240 rad and fans and your done.

Huh? Don't trust a DDC? frown.gif

Can I ask why?

i just thought going custom and spending more money on better products ! plus it doesn't support Intel Socket 2011 ?

A pump has nothing to do with your socket. Only the CPU mounting set.

In the past those units had pump problems IIRC, and the pumps weren't DDC's. They've since fixed them as the pumps inside any model is now PMP-400's (equivalent to DDC's). But as you can see, it isn't that expensive anyways. The res I linked plus two DDC's is 296.44 USD and a RP-1005 is 234.99 USD. If I was to chose something better I'd go for the RP-1200 if you want to stick with Koolance (which seems that way).

After going back and fully reading it I did not know that pump was on there. Normally when you see an all in one unit like that they tend to not be all that great. But I still wouldn't get one as it costs more then a rasa kit and still don't come with a rad and cpu block.

CPU Block: XSPC RayStorm
Pump: Laing DDC-1with XSPC V3 Acrylic Top
Res: Phobya Balancer 150 Reservoir Black Nickel
Rad: RX360

that should get you started. just throw some barbs, tubing, fans, and a gpu block.
i like 1/2" barbs with 7/16" tubing. imo done right they look better then more expensive compression fittings. as for fans any sub 2000rpm fan on a controler will do just none of the slipstream 15mm thick stuff.
