[Build Log] Leche de Tortuga or First PC Build in 4.5 Years [PICS]

Well the time has come to treat myself to a new PC after graduating from college and being forced into console gaming and laptop use as a daily driver. I've ordered all the parts in a group so they should arrive together or within a day or so of each other.

Everything was purchased from Newegg except for the CPU which was from TigerDirect as Newegg has either run out of stock or ceased carrying the 1100T phenoms.

Thermaltake A60 AMD Leo Edition
-I really dig the looks of this case and the cooling potential for air
-the USB 3 is unfortunately a pass through out the back since it was built before the 20pin header was available for motherboards

AMD X6 Phenom II 1100T BE
-Pretty straight forward choice since Bulldozer is leaving a little to be desired still

Corsair Low-Profile Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) @ 1600MHz
-Picked up for under $90
-I know its overkill for this setup but I like the upgrade and future-proofness it presents

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
-Reasonably priced mobo with AM3+ upgradeablility when Bulldozer gets better utilized

Corsair Force 3 Series 60GB SSD
-Good reviews and space enough for a boot disk

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 7200rpm SATA III
-Budget priced and I've get a 2TB network drive to dump non-essential data

Enermax 750W Semi-Modular PSU
-Again mid-budget priced with 80+ bronze and decent power

MSI 560Ti Twin Frozr II 2GB/OC
-Going with the mid-level budget theme it offers reasonable OCing ability and 2GB of video memory

Coolermaster GeminII S524
-I've read some good reviews on this cooler and its budget priced vs. the NH-D14

ASUS 24x DVD-RW
-Straight forward optical drive

I'm sure I could have cut costs here and there and gone with better performers in other areas but this all seemed to fit nicely together in a clean package while still offering some future-proofness in areas.

Thanks guys! Everything is scheduled to arrive today except my PSU which is strange. All of my separate packages made to the last UPS place before delivery and they put them all on the vehicle for delivery except one package frown.gif. Surely they would have realized that it was the same address and put it on board with the rest of my goodies.

Here's hoping they are extra nice and deliver everything today instead of everything minus the PSU

Updated with photos.

UPS wasn't smart enough to make the connection so tomorrow the PSU will go in and the real cable management project will begin.

So far there is ample room in this case and I'm surprised at how much cable management space there is. The only downside is that the front USB 3.0 doesn't have the now standard 20-pin header so there is a pass through (the blue cable) through the top water cooling hole to the back USB 3.0 frown.gif

The final pieces!

Waiting on some black BitFenix sleeved cable extensions so I can get rid of that front panel audio lurking by my PSU as well as try and clean up the PSU cables. Its a tight fit and this is about as best I can do with the lengths of cable straight from Enermax.

Still in the works is a 140cm fan for the geminII s524 that has a bit more CFM as well as 3 more 120cm fans for the side, and 2nd positions in the top and front. Not sure if I want to run all black or clear fans or maybe go white LED to really pop the mesh and red tinted window.

I'd love any and all criticisms you might have.

Finished "Cable Management"
