Camcorder as webcam? Can it be done? How? - Page 2

USB is known to lose data rate for audio/video. I don't know why. That's why FireWire was preferred for cameras. With the capture card, most streaming systems like adobe flash recognize the capture card as a source. So does a service like ustream.

Pm me if you're interested in done details. I did a lot of research on setting up that type of service.

use a webcam, if you use your vidoe camera your going to ware out the sensor in your video camera (at least imo)
webcams are so cheap.

or if you have a ipod touch 4th gen, or iphone, you can use it as a wireless webcam (this is what I do)

I'm using a bit older Firewire enabled cam through my laptop using Livestream...

I had to buy an ExpressCard to get Firewire on my laptop, but it works great!

Here's the card I had to purchase...

Thread Starter
My friend already has a Logitech C910, and while she likes it, she wants to take a step further and provide higher quality video with a full HD camcorder.

Ramkatral, I sent yo a PM.
