re-manufactured toner cartridges?

Thread Starter
been researching on google and such and I keep hearing that re manufactured toner cartridges are terrible, but I keep getting the impression that these are false results put up by those printer companies. So its a bit hard to get true reliable factual information unless you really know its coming from an impartial third party (who's existence can be verified)

So I guess its best to ask here, do people generally have good experiences with re-manufactured toner cartridges?

had mixed results so far with my canon mx860 when ordering from 123inkjets.

orders 2 sets of ink.
1 blue isn't recognized by printer
1 magenta just leaked all over as soon as i opened up the package.
out of 9 (still have 1 yellow left) cartridges 2 didn't work.
overall I am happy since i saved 50% of OEM cartridge price.

I haven't looked at these in years, but they used to be hit or miss in terms of ink quantity, quality and issues. You might be better off getting one of those kits where you refill the manufacturer's cartridge yourself. In all seriousness though, you'd save yourself money by buying a new laserjet printer. The inkjet printer's operating cost is way more than its value typically.

well I used to hear it was terribad, but then I started hearing that the quality has really gone up in recent times.
Personally I'd rather not refill the ink toner myself, turns out that it may not be too healthy (still researching) and frankly i'm a tad lazy, why pay $15 for toner when the toner cartridge is 20-30

As a network administrator, I can say from experience (some relatively recently) that they are junk.

did you buy compatible or remanufactured?
Are you talking ink or toner? Two different things, one is for ink jet or bubble jet printers and toner cartridges are for laser printers. A lot of manufactures recycle the toner cartridges and reuse them, so if they can why can't someone else.
