Probably not, store bought PCs like Dell and Compac are made so they cant be OCed.

You could try AMD Overdrive.

I second trying AMD overdrive but overclocking in windows is a crap shoot, plus who knows if the motherboard can handle it.

I doubt the settings made in AMD Overdrive would stick after reboot.

Probably not, the motherboard might reset back to factory defaults.

better off picking up a new motherboard to put that processor in, I know it seems like a waste but thats what happens when you buy prebuilt

You'd have to get a different motherboard if you want to overclock. OEM builds from Dell/HP don't allow any kind of overclocking. Made me sad when I had to open up and set up 25 machines with chips similar to 2600Ks that were to be used as open lab computers in my school. sad-smiley-002.gif

yes thats right, and Dell/HP cases tend to be cramped too.
