I think you all may have missed this part in the post:
And I was like hmm that is odd, I have a surge protector with the "Master" "Controlled by Master" plugs. So the computer shut off and it shut off everything else, makes sense.

Although I should have been more clear. The Master plug was used by the computer, the Controlled By Master had my monitor + Speakers in it. So when the computer turned off the other plugs also turned off, its how the surge protector was designed so when I switch off the power supply those also turn off. I'm surprised no one here has heard of this? I also did try other surge protectors in the same outlet and the monitor + speakers turned on but not the computer.

Don't really appreciate the fool comment right away when my initial post skimmed over.
