Sata 2 or sata 3 for SSD raid 0

I currently set up two Patriot Wildfires (120GB) in raid 0 using the Marvell 9128 chip on my motherboard, but the speeds are extremely slow. I did some research and read that there are problems with the Marvell controller in raid.

Now, I'm wondering if I should use the Gigabyte (JMicron sata 3) or the Intel (sata 2) controller for the raid setup. Would the Gigabyte chip have the same problems as the Marvell chip? Would the raid setup saturate the Intel sata 2 ports?

Option 1: Use the Intel controller
Option 2: Use the Gigabyte (JMicron) controller*
Option 3: Upgrade my motherboard

*I currently have a 2 HDD raid 0 set up on the Gigabyte chip (I ran out of ports on the Intel controller when I set this up). Is there anyway to move this to my Intel controller without breaking the raid?

I'm not sure on that exact motherboard from Gigabyte, but if it's like their older tech (EP45-UD3P) then the Gigabyte controller is marvel. You'd want to run your SSDs on the Intel controller, everytime.

Thanks. Just checked and the Gigabyte chip is JMicron.
