[Anand] EVGA Plans to Enter the PSU Market with the NEX PSU - Page 7

Checked it out earlier today. 750W and 1000W are by FSP. 1500W is still an unknown, definitely not FSP as far as I can tell. Will do a full write-up later.

There it is.
The pure negativity about something you have no knowledge of just because someone dislikes the name.

Why do I bother?

Wait for my write-up. However, I should be getting review samples around March; the official release will be at CEBIT.

Manufactured by, or use an existing FSP platform? I seriously can't believe they would use FSP. Did an EVGA rep tell you this or did you look through the grills to determine FSP?

I'm not familiar enough with FSP's high-wattage stuff to say for sure. It didn't look familiar. The layout made me think of a full bridge or LLC resonant half bridge unit.

I know it's FSP because the main transformer says FSP on it. So unless they subcontracted that out... But there shouldn't be any reason to, and the 1000W and 750W were final version production samples.

1500W is NOT FSP.

Interesting stuff. I did think Aurum for like a second in the beginning for the lower wattage units....literally a second. I do know that FSP manufactures custom transformers and have seen an FSP marked transformer in a non FSP manufactured PSU before....iirc.

I look forward to your write-up good sir.

Why do I bother?

Maybe too many people just wants one PSU company for some reason instead of competition?

Yes, AMD would have to accept them as a partner first. AMD and NVIDIA just don't accept partners because it pisses off their other partners because of more competition.
Once again...
