Hi,
I have just found that my usb 3 front io panel has faulty usb 3 that drops my external usb3 hdd's connection after a few gb of transfering.

I have this panel

I do'nt have this

Is my io panel the newer revision or older one.

Only ask as it looks like the blue usb cables are to passthrough the case to rear and attach to motherboards backplate usb3, and Cm are offering to send me out a io panel with blue cables so i'm confused.
Thanks

I think what you have (ie pic 1) is the old version while pic 2 shows the new version.

Cooler Master Online Store is selling the pic 2 version as OEM:-

http://cmstore.coolermaster-usa.com/product_info.php?cPath=18_25&products_id=648

Basically, your motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro has four USB 3.0 output ports.  Two on the rear I/O panel and two in the middle of the motherboard.  See the 2 pics below:-

So, when CM sends you the panel with blue cables, you have two options to connect them to your motherboard.

Option 1

As you have already noted, the two blue cables go out of the case via a PCI slot and go into the two USB 3.0 ports on the motherboard rear I/O panel.

Personally, I think this is not the preferred way because of wasting the internal USB 3.0 connector and having cables coming out of the rear is not as elegant.

Option 2

Connect the two blue cables to the mid board USB 3.0 connector via an adapter cable.

CM has one such adapter (http://www.cmhd.tv/index_blog.php/haf-x-932-usb-3-0-upgrades/1662).

I cannot find this adapter in the USA CM Online Store but I do find it available in Europe's Store, selling for €3 .

(http://www.coolermaster.nl/shop/product_info.php?products_id=806).  Perhaps you can ask CM to see if they are willing to send this adapter to you, especially if you are located in Europe.

If you are in the US, you can also order a similar product here.  It costs US$13.

I hope this clears up your confusion.

Thankyou for that info Windfire smile.gif
I will have to ask cm see if they have a usb3 motherboard adapter they can include.
It's not looking good though, sadly there's a wait of 8/12 weeks for the blue usb io panels/cables tobe in stock so it's going tobe a long time before this get's resolved frown.gif, feel sad as hell that my usb3 ports do'nt work correctly but what can ya do frown.gif
