Is my OC really stable?

Recently I decided to bump up my gts 450, and after running Kombuster for 15 minutes I did not see any artifacts does that mean I am good to go? Oh and here are the numbers smile.gif

core= 1000mhz (2000 mhz shader)
memory=2050 mhz (4100 mhz effective)
voltage= 1.100 volts

Kombustor, furmark, and similar programs are not very stressful at all. They're not much use for anything besides getting your GPU hot as hell.

Out of all the games I own, Battlefield and DiRT seem to put the most stress on my card, and they'll crash it where no other games will. Might want to play one of those for a while and see if you're still stable.

^This. I've ran Furmark for 30 minutes straight before, at Extreme Burn-In settings as well and everything seemed stable. Then I ran Battlefield 3 and it took all of 5 seconds for the game to crash. This is what I use to test:

1. Furmark = Test for maximum temperature reached by GPU(s). This yields a theoretical maximum that games won't reach so if you're safe here, you're safe overall (c.f. Prime95 for CPUs).
2. Games (Battlefield 3 is a particularly good one) = Test for actual GPU and memory overclock stability. Depending on the game, this is also a good test of real-life stress testing for a CPU overclock.

The max temp I get running kombuster is 60 C. What if I don't have bf3 or dirt would skyrim be a good benchmark for stability? (I just played skyrim for 20 minutes and I didnt get any artifacts or lockups.)

Try OCCT, it detects the errors for you when you set it to.
I use folding and OCCT to detect instability, I can furmark the better of my two 470s at 940 core but it won't run OCCT without errors until I back down to 900.

if i get occt how long should i run it for?

*edit- is 30 C idle 60 C full load temp good?

60C full load is pretty good, personally I run OCCT for about 15 minutes with it set to the maximum resolution my monitor will display, fullscreen, shader complexity 8 and error check enabled.

My guess is that it's supposed to allow you to control what FPS your cards will be pushing so that they're doing a lot of work but also pushing enough frames to detect an error quickly.
When I start a test my FPS is very high but it gradually drops, I think that's the shader complexity auto-tuning itself to suit my cards. Regardless of my OC or shader complexity settings I end up with around 8-11 FPS when it settles down.

I'm not really sure what it does but it doesn't seem to change much from my experience.

EDIT: Just ran it at 607MHz core and 900MHz core with a single card and at 815MHz core with SLI.
Shader complexity 1 vs. 8 didn't seem to do anything in any of those cases.
