[PCGamer] Bioware working on SWTOR content we won’t see for “over a year” - Page 2

Somehow, $180 a year PER PERSON does not justify to the company providing free expansion packs. rolleyes.gif

It depends on how much you play it. If you get only a couple hours a week out of it, then yeah that's probably not worth it. But typically when I play an MMO I don't buy as many other games, so it evens out.

Really, reading the SWTOR forums is quite sad. So many people on there pretending like nothing's wrong with the game. Complete ignorance on the fact that many of the issues they face and lack of features has been there since beta.
They're paying for a beta. Sad thing is it's EA's fault for pushing bioware to release when it wasn't done.

I've read some on there forums, and it hurts my brain at times, too read what people write. I not sure how this is beta, its very polished. I havent seen any issues what most people are going through. Neither has our guild faced with any so far.

I believe they meant by updates are new Flashpoints, Operations and etc. Not just bug fixes. Expansion is more for Chapters (LORE) and Class quest line continues on the saga up to lvl 60, 70, 80.

Right now the game ends at Chapter 3 if I can remember.

That is not what they said.

From the article:

"James highlights that the potential for regular, high quality, content is huge, mostly thanks to SWTOR’s early success."

This directly contradicts either your ignorant assumption or baseless lie. You have the right to say whatever you like, but please at least try to stick to the truth. The game has other legit flaws you can rally around, this is not one...yet.

Now stop trolling and go back to waiting for GW2 to come out. I am sure it won't be delayed anymore.

The game play and leveling experience is polished all the way to 50. At 50 there are some issues in pvp regarding stun locks to death and how pvp is so republic vs empire centric. As far as raiding and doing heroics they are not finished as well but i feel bioware is doing a good job thus far.

Right or wrong, part of the justification for the monthly subscription is to offset the cost of infrastructure and delivery. They have to have servers, Internet connectivity and staff to provide the gameplay experience.

With non-MMO games, the user essentially provides the infrastructure (or might rent a server for hosting games, etc).

Good subscription MMOs also give users frequent content updates for free. WoW did a great job with this model. They provide an expansion and then they keep adding additional raid content to keep players engaged. BioWare seems to be aware that is essential for keeping the subscriptions going.

Why doesn't Bioware focus a bit more on getting the high-res textures that they pulled out before launch back into the game, and a little less on content that is a year off?

“Our writers are working on content you won’t see for over a year,” game director James Ohlen told PC Gamer. “We have a lot of plans. Because of the voice overs, cinematics and moving parts, we have to look way into the future.”

Can you read that sentence again then think about what you just asked?

Works for me. I'm cool with expansions. I pay for MMOs (currently subbed to WoW and SW:TOR), but as much as people ***** about it, $15 a month is a minimal cost to be entertained for as many hours as these games provide. I can't even get a good buzz at a local pub for $15.
