[PCGamer] Bioware working on SWTOR content we won’t see for “over a year” - Page 4

Problem is a lot of po' kids like to complain about costs. If it's too rich for your blood, just say "I can't afford it". There's nothing wrong with that. I spend $15 on gas going back and forth to work daily. What the hell is $15 a month to play a so far, very entertaining game?

I really hope they do two things to fix the game, stop allowing professions make end game raid gear, and make pvp gear not viable solution for raid gear. It really is screwing up the end-game raiding system where I cannot feel motivated to do the raids if I get good gear without having to do them....

Also GIVE US OUR DAMN GUILD BANKS ALREADY!

the game hasn't even been out for a month yet. You can't expect them to have it all done. Otherwise you would be waiting at least another 6 months. As a soloer I don't really see the need of a guild bank. I was in a guild in WoW and I rarely used the guild bank even with all the stuff they had. SWTOR is in a position where its easy to make a lot of money easy to buy anything you need. Right it would be best to focus on money making now and then worry about non credit based items.

I guess because Star Wars has a colossal fanbase consisting of nerds who will buy ANYTHING with the words "Star Wars" stamped on it, even if it's a half-baked attempt at a WoW clone. Star Wars fanbase > Mass Effect fanbase so obviously Bioware went for whatever would result in more $$$. Whatever percentage of the playerbase that ISN'T consisting of fans instead consists of people who are simply bored of WoW and want to play a game that uses a different color pallette with 1-2 new ideas thrown in *cough* Rift *cough* .

So funny to see someone play the "Star Wars Fanboy" card on this.

Desperate man, just desperate.

Do you see any other reason why a company like Bioware would make a Star Wars MMO? Just curious to see if you're capable of a more intelligent reply with some thought in it.

Hmm I don't know, KOTOR?

Do you know what KOTOR is?

Well, there has to be some truth to it. EA could have made a Mass Effect MMO with no repercussions and I would bet it would have been selling about half as well...maybe more, but there isn't anyway to know. There probably needs to be a good ME movie out first and they can't even get out of a negotiation meeting on a ME movie successfully yet.

However, 40% of all revenue from the Star Wars MMO is going to Lucas Arts. EA would not have been willing to cough up that cash had there not been a reason. They could have made the very same MMO and change the name of the planets, classes, and replace a few races that are iconic to Star Wars with something else... but they didn't. The Star Wars name was worth it to them to pay the royalties. So I think the "Star Wars fan boy card" actually has some value.

(Edit: looked it up quick...it's actually 35%, but that is still a lot and I swear I've read 40% before)

There was a KOTOR MMO rumored a few years ago, but if it ever even existed I think it was vaporware...was one actually made? I know I haven't heard about it, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there.

I could careless about Star Wars, but I would like to play a Scifi MMO...though I can't really get into this Star Wars one. I think it was due to the voice overs. In the beta I played about ten hours or so...and good share of that was spent listening to NPCs talk. I'd rather just read a few paragraphs in a few seconds and continue about my business. I am a lore nut so just clicking through the dialog isn't really an option for me.

Graphically this game trump WoW in every single way shape and form. And it's different than WoW cause its an MMO that plays as a single player game but with the option to play as an MMO. My only real problem is that more people don't play and expect that it's suppose to trump WoW on day one when WoW has been in the works publicly since 05.

I can't believe I am going to say this... But, WoW has a way more beautiful atmosphere than SWTOR.... Even the armor is very creative and I think that is because Blizzard has been doing that for years. I like SWTOR and play it everyday, but as another person mentioned... for the amount the game requires to run smoothly. Well, it just doesn't deliver and doesn't make love to the eyes. By the way.... (BLEEP!) WoW! >_< thumb.gif
