If you were to compare this vs the crucial m4, what big of a difference would there be?

m4 is more reliable but also more expensive. The last generation of these drives had a bad rep however most people have reported that most of the issues have been fixed with the latest firmware. Also, you might have to update the firmware on the OCZ if it doesn;t already come with the latest version.

I think I decided not to get it. I looked at youtube videos (never thought about looking at other people using SSDs, in the whole time I've been wondering how much useful it would be to me) and decided I'd rather not waste the money for decrease in loading times. Pretty much my view on SSD is now is luxury when the past year I've been thinking necessity.

I held off on getting a SSD till it was $1/bg, and so I got a 60 gig OCZ Solid 3 a few months ago for $50 AR.
While it is really nice (my computer boots in < 18 seconds from the time the power button is pushed till I am using it), and things are "snappier", I have yet to buy another. Would I like another one, yes, but it is not a necessity IMO for most people (but not a luxery either, kind of inbetween).
I don't regret getting the one I got, but I highly doubt I will get another till prices are closer to $0.50/gb or less (unless HDD prices stay high, then I may)

Why do they always limit one per household on these rebates ;\

The price drops eases my final decision. I feel like I can hold off on buying an SSD to the point where they are standard for any build. Until then, HDD would suffice, don't even have a problem with boots times. I actually use that time to think about what I'm going to do work wise for the day biggrin.gif
