Looking for a tripod that I can take with me. New to photography and don't know what to look for when choosing a tripod. Carrying a T2i.

Thanks.

That's about the closest I can get for you. Calumet tripods are great, much better than the price would lead you to believe.

Thanks. Should I invest alittle more into a tripod?

I don't think it's necessary for a T2i with a kit lens, although if you plan to get larger lenses or a larger/heavier body in the future, it might be worth it to spend a little more now, rather than have to buy twice. Just look at the weight ratings for heads and legs and buy from a reputable brand if you plan on moving up.

I'm also actively looking for a tripod, mine is a t2i as well but theres a 70-200 f4L and a 17-50 f2.8 sigma waiting for me back home in the states when i get there (apparently i got them as Christmas gifts i didn't know till my girlfriend went to check on my house for me today. Thank you Mom and Dad.

Dont really want to make a new thread but im looking for something around maybe 150 or so dont wanna spend too much but if yall will just throw some suggestions my way as well would be much appreciated.

personally i would spend a bit more for the tripod, but that tripod is fine for even a heavier fullframe setup (5d2 + 70-200/2.8) if you do not mind the weight of the tripod itself.

I dunno if I would spend any more, the Calumet 7500 legs I just picked up are just as well made as the Manfrotto X55s I had before them, for about 100 bucks less. Brand names are overrated, especially in camera support. Of course, brands like RRS and Gitzo have earned their keep, but that stuff is in another league entirely.

i agree but i also disagree redface.gif. i agree that there is no point to say upgrade from a calumet to a low end manfrotto, but i would look for a well known quality brand with a good design. some manufacturers like velbon makes some nice higher-end stuff but also make some cheap 20 dollar walmart special tripod.

like i said, personally i would spend a bit more and get a solid set of CF legs with a decent head just for the lower weight....but that would be like a minimum 300 dollar setup;).
