Another is this a good SSD? 240GB Corsair Force 3

Corsair 240 GB Force Series 3 Solid State Drive (SSD)

It is under $300 and the size I want. It will go in my i5-750 which uses the marvel SATA 3 controller GA-P55-UD4. Is this one of those SSD's with issues? Have the Sandforce issues been resolved?

Thanks!

The Force 3 has performance equal to Agility 3 from OCZ. It's not Corsair's top line ssd.

A much better choice is the Force 3 GT. It handles incompressible data much better than the Force 3.

An even better choice is the Corsair Performance Pro. It handles all data equally and is built with higher quality nand memory.

My choice would be the Performance pro as some people are still having bsod with the sandforce drives.

Thanks, plus reps. I read some really bad reviews on Newegg but I hope they are resolved.

This is coming from a Force 3 owner. Works fine, no issues whatsoever. It is worth it to get the "elite" SSD's if there not too much more expensive. Saw the Performance pro at like $340 I think it was for a 256gb? The Force GT is the Sweet Spot in my opinion. Seen it on sale for $150 for a 128gb version, so the 256gb should scale in price.

Buuut mine does the job fine. You won't notice the difference in my opinion unless your copying over specific file types a lot.

I want 240/256gb just because. If I am looking in the $400 market is the Samsung 830 the best, recomend another? I don't want to spend $300 and regret it. The drive will be used for:
Windows 7 whatever, internet
Photoshop CS5
Games like Crysis etc...

If you're into photoshop, you'll need a drive that's good with incompressible data and has a good write speed.

The Corsair Performance Pro fits the bill. Unlike Sandforce based drives, it handles all data the exact same. And it has better writes than the M4 or the 830.

I would definitely recommended the Corsair Performance Pro and the Samsung 830. They are great drives.

Thanks, +rep

I specifically appreciate the information about compressed data. I have been reading the reviews of the Corsair P Pro, I need to make sure I have the ICH9R chip in my MOBO it looks like. I read on the Corsair Forum the X58 chips sets have issues the 1155 does not, I want SSD on my 1156 machine but I don't want problems...
