Strange issue with drivers loading

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter
I have this problem where as if I don't go into CCC and manually switch my crossfire off and then on again my video drivers won't work. I mean everytime I go to play BF3 and if I forget to do this my game is impossible to play so i go out, do the turning off and then on thing and the game runs like a champ until I shut my pc down again.

Anyone have a solution or are you having issues like this?

Just sounds like your general drive issue. I'd recommend completely uninstalling and reinstalling your GPU drivers.

Fix it with this;

  • Uninstall all tweaking applications such as Afterburner, Trixx etc if you have it in the system.

  • Uninstall Catalyst package and CAP. Select "Express Uninstall"

  • Delete these folder;
  • C:\user\Program files or (x86)\ ATI or AMD.
  • C:\user\ProgramData\ATI or AMD (need to show hidden files).

  • Turn off UAC.
    Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > change User Account Control Settings > move the slider to bottom > restart PC.

Download and install latest MSI Aterburner 2.2.0 Beta 10. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=356808

1. Go to regedit (start > search programs and files > "regedit").
2. In drop down menu: find file > type "enableulps".
3. For ALL instances (keep pressing F3) change the "1" value to a "0".
4. Reboot PC.

I'm going to copy / paste this for future reference. It would come in handy in many driver situations tongue.gif

Please do that so I don't have to type that everytime.
