My Modded CM HAF 912 - "The OCN Yin Yang Dragon"

OCN Yin Yang Dragon

I started with a Cooler Master HAF 912 before the "Advanced HAF 912" towers were released. It was fully chrome and looked like this.

442

Built it as a Christmas present and put a bow on it.

413

Pic of first inside look. No cable management. AMD 6870 reference card. I eventually upgraded that for an MSI AMD 6870 TFII and then even had a second in there for crossfire for 29 days before deciding to go with 3D Vision gaming and watching blu-ray movies with 3D Vision. Had a BFG EX 1000 Watt PSU to start.

450

Now here's a look inside with my EVGA GTX 580 when I upgraded for 3D Vision and started my cable management process. Also upgraded to a real PSU and went with Corsair HX1050 when it first released.

450

Purchased a side window panel that comes with the HAF 912 Advanced to gaze inside.

480

I was going for a Yin Yang theme. I spray painted everything but decided to leave the mother board back mounting plate and I/O back tower plate where mother board was making contact to tower sliver for a mixed effect and balance of color. Hoping the mother board would pop out with black accents around it.

I added black air flow brackets with black aluminum screweless head screws for easy on/off.

Air brushed the OCN logo on the inside back side tower case.

Added Red LED lights one side and Blue LED the other, again for a mix of Yin Yan theme. The blue lights have option to be solid 'on' or in 'off' position to sound activate 'on' 'off' with music.

480

Airbrushed the outside back side tower with the Yin Yang Dragon Logo silver.

564

A close up of the Yin Yan Dragon logo.

454

Finally what it looks like with lights on through side tower.

My whole system on my desk final product pic.

450

I did not take step by step photo shots of painting, didn't think ahead in hind sight during the project to do that. Nothing major in modding but it was the first modded case I took and tweaked to my liking.

My last little thing I'd like to learn and get done is minor PSU cable sleeving project to cover up the ATX and PCIe lines. Complete black sleeving up to the connectors on the mother board and GPU power connectors.

After a long process for me with work and kids I finally have a nice customized entertainment system. Enjoying the 3D Vision gaming and watching blu-ray movies in 3D Vision. coolsmiley.png

Reserved to add the video of my activated lights with music when I get it uploaded. Nothing fancy it's my first attempt at lighting. Thinking about taking it to a higher level once I learn how.

Switched out Alienware AW2310 OptX for an ASUS VG278H 27" 120Hz 1920x1080p monitor upgrade. Nvidia 2 Vision glasses with Lightboost and 4" more viewing.

Also the third post shows my computer with sound activated lights updated now.

Nice rig +1 rep

just a thought I wanted to share. If I were you I would put that Bose sub on the floor if you have room there for two reasons. I know it has a shielded driver but why take a chance with EMI. Also I see the mic and know low frequencies are vibrating all through the desktop introducing noise in it.  you would get better isolation/less noise in it on the floor. Last but not least is you'll get better sound from it on the floor preferably in a corner of the room the best reason to move.

Any who back on topic... I like the custom art on your case especially the stuff that lights up inside TY for sharingthumb.gif
