Got my first batch of Swiftech Helix-120s from Perfromance-PCs in the mail earlier.

They're surprisingly well-made, with a little heft to them -sleeved, too. I reckon they push around 30-35% less air than the stock Corsair fans on my H80. Pretty good fan for the price. Really silent compared to the Corsair H80 stock fans.

Sadly, they don't work well with the Cosmos II's built-in fan controller until it's maxed-out. Won't be getting a dedicated third-party fan controller just yet, though. Still waiting for my Cosmos II's replacement revised fan control assembly. But these aren't annoying at full-blast, anyway, so I might just leave the fans on max all the time. lol.

I think overall they are fairly similar, but the AP-15's seemed to perform slightly better from what I can tell, but there's nothing scientific in my reasoning. I have both and have used both on my H100, but I seem to have gotten at least a degree or two better with my AP-15's compared to the Helixes.

In reality, I think you'd be fine with either, and if you want to save money, the Helixes will work just fine. Also, the Helixes seem to undervolt better than the AP-15's, so that may be benificial as well if you plan to use a fan controller. I know sometimes my AP-15's made funny noises when undervolted, where as my Helixes never made any such noises.

I guess I'll go with the Helix. How about the quality compared to the AP-15?

I'd say the AP-15's are higher quality, where as the Helix just feels more plasticy. The AP-15's are solid and have some weight to them, and just feel like really good quality.

so hows the Helix vs AP15 thing going

I saw a video on youtube and the helix looked far from quite at 0.25 A
