I have the same Motherboard but have not yet finished my PC so I've not installed any of these. However, I would probably install all the ASUS items (the first set) and all but #3 and #7 of the second set. #3 is an older version and I tend to avoid unwanted web apps (#7) Sorry I cant be of any more help yet.

Hi brother.

Thanks. Yes #3 is an old version of the #1. #7 looks like a Web-Storage crap that we don't need anyway....

If you find any other info on the apps let me know....

Take care

Ahanasis, click Rigbuilder at the top right of your screen and fill in your system components, then add it to your signature. Then we can give better advice smile.gif

When you said "make work what I have paid for..." well there's no Windows programs for advanced overclocking. All the settings you need for that are in the Bios.

However, AI Suite II can do some simple settings for overclocking, so download that bundle. That's got some "turbo boost" software and the fan xpert is useful to set the fan speeds to react to certain temps.

The other things there's no need to install them unless you know you need them. For example, Virtu lets you switch 'automatically' between your onboard GPU and your PCIe GPU. This is something that's useful if you are running your PC as an HTPC, but isn't really useful otherwise. The Marvell software I think is for making a hybrid cached drive from an SSD+HDD which has limited use if your SSD is already your Win7 boot drive. The AI Charger is for enabling your USB3 ports to charge the battery of peripherals, I'm not sure why that's not standard. Intel Management Engine Interface is for corporations so that the IT department can remotely switch on/off your PC and perform other maintenance on it. The other things I don't think they are important.

Just install drivers. Who cares about software? I have the deluxe and I use none of the software that came with the board other than intel matrix.

Well I think the Virtu software is interesting, as it can allow you to virtualise your graphics cards. So you can plug your monitor into the onboard card and still get the PCIe GPU's output when playing games. The software routes the output automatically. And when using the PCIe GPU for Folding, it can let Windows run through the onboard CPU , so you'd have no visual lag/slowdown from the Folding.

The Marvel hybrid drive thing is interesting too, if you want nearly SSD speed on your HDD without having to manage yourself on which drive you put the files.

I install the AI SUITE but only few programs in it such as Fan Xpert, Probe II and Update.

Get the Virtu from the lucidlogic site if you want it.

Thank you all people for your input....

Especially thanks to WiSK for the long insightful posts around many of the software listed above. Yes I will arrange my rig signature as soon as I get my system up and backed up !

Also I give WiSK a +REP point for the constant help....

You shouldn't mention anything about ASUS DIGI+ VRM software though. Do I need this to make the relevant function work?
Any ideas?

Thanks again.

!

I don't know about DIGI+ VRM sorry, but if that's part of the AI Suite bundle, then you can have a look yourself what it does smile.gif
