X-FI music stops working

Thread Starter
Hi,

My X-fi music sometimes stops working and it will make some strange cracking noise. 30 seconds later it's back too normal. Is it time for a new soundcard or is there a way too solve it. I installed other drivers but that didn't solve the problem. Maybe i didn't uninstall the old software in the right way? Could that be possible?

Thanks!

I would recommend fully uninstalling and reinstalling your sound card drivers.

Switch to PAX drivers. Years of zero issues.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply's. I was using PAX drivers so i uninstalled everything(deleted everything using control panel, then i used revo uninstaller and deleted the maps in program files. When i had done that i also deleted some things in the registry using cccleaner). I then installed the newest daniel K drivers but that didn't solve the problem.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

If reinstalling drivers didn't fix it (assuming it was done right) then it's likely that the soundcard is broken.

Can you explain how you can uninstall the drivers in a right way? I didn't try driver sweeper, should i try that?

Use driver sweeper after you have uninstalled.
