X Fire advice

Hi Guys,

I sold a HD6950 in preparation of getting a HD7970. I still have the other one for sale.

But it happens I have come across a HD6990 2nd hand and was thinking of mabye using it to tri fire with my other 6950.

So my question is, is it ok to xfire a 6990 with a 6950? Much performance difference in games say like crysis having tri fire to dual 6950s?

Never did trifire before.

If you are talking about Crysis 2, Dx11, all Ultra, HR, probably not.

But for other games will see the boost from one GPU to 2, 90% and from 2 to 3, 60~70%.

This is Crysis 2, DX11, all Ultra, HR + MLAA @1980x1080 2x 6990, CPU@4.8 GHz.
