Disable Hyperthreading?

Thread Starter
I have a P4 3GHz processor with hyperthreading

My question is: should i disable hyperthreading if i want to play a heavy game..to gain peformance .... cus I dont realy care if i can work multiple processes better at ones with Hyperthreading on.

Does anyone have experiance with turning off hyperthreading ?

To be honest id leave it enabled, your not gonna see any type of performance gain from disabling it, i tell you this based on my own experiences!

I heard from some people that Disabling Hyper Threading would increase game performance, but I didn't notice any improvement at all from doing this in my old computer. So just leave it as is.

Don't disable Hyperthreading, you won't see any gain in performance, maybe even a drop in performance since HT just creates a virtual core in a way.. I would keep it on

DO NOT do it! The last time I did it, it freaking crashed my comp while loading Windows, which somehow busted the harddrive...
